My Festival Essentials List & Other Summer Activities

Wednesday, 15 July 2015

Hello guys! I am currently writing this post on the plane to Thailand - the past couple of weeks have been pretty busy! So there’s a lot to catch up on.

Last week I went to Portugal with my best bud Ruby; we spent the first few days exploring Lisbon and the next few days at Nos Alive Festival which was crazy amazing. Ideally I’d love to fill you in on my Portugal trip now, but I have yet to get the photos developed, so instead I thought I’d wait and do a post on what I got up to the week before that, along with my Festival Essentials List! Enjoy.

Going back two weeks ago now I went to the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A with Ruby (I do have other friends, I promise!) The clothes were beautiful, and whilst personally I found a lot of them too avant-garde for daily wear there were elements I would love to incorporate into my day to day outfits, like the abundance of lace and fierce shoulder pads. There was also an extra element of fun added to the exhibition as photography was apparently banned so we spent the majority of our time there in stealth mode – silently snapping pictures and evading the security guards. Although I must say that Ruby captured most of the photos as I lack the stealth needed for such matters (I’d make a terrible spy), and preferred to watch the security guards practically chase Ruby through the exhibit whilst chuckling silently to myself. However, at one point I did whip out my phone to take a cheeky picture for instagram and practically felt like a fully fledged outlaw – yes I like to live on the edge.

Afternoon Tea

Friday, 3 July 2015

Last Sunday I went to one of Christabel's pop up events - the Mad Hatter's Brunch, with Ruby which was delightful. The brunch was held in a secret location which meant we had some slight trouble finding it and after knocking on a few doors we feared we had been catfished in some bizarre way. However, eventually we were able to find our way, and were greeted at the door with some delicious cocktails - just how I always want to be greeted when I come through the door.

The Start of Summer

Friday, 26 June 2015

I have finally finished my exams! I officially finished on the 11th June, and am so pleased to start summer break. I can't wait to get back into blogging again and will be dutifully posting atleast once a week! I have lots of exciting things lined up for the blog, but first I wanted to give you guys a little update on what I've been up to recently.

The Room Diaries: Ruby & London Fashion Weekend

Sunday, 8 March 2015

As you know, I haven't posted in a few months but I've been so busy doing coursework and sorting things out for university that I haven't had the chance. Though now I'm back, and plan to hopefully start posting once a week again. Last weekend I went to London Fashion Weekend with Ruby which was a lot of fun. We went to one of the trend shows in the morning, browsed around the stalls and admired all the fabulous outfits, before going to Chipotle for lunch.

The Seaside

Thursday, 18 December 2014

Right the way back at the start of summer I went down to Brighton with Becky and Ruby for a quick shoot. The plan was to get some really bright and summery shots, but sadly it was pouring with rain for most of the day! So after taking cover in a fish and chip shop for a while we headed back out and took a few shots before it got too cold. Take a look.

White Cube

Saturday, 6 December 2014

A few weeks ago I went to the Tracey Emin exhibition at the White Cube Gallery with my friend Ruby. Sadly I wasn't allowed to take any photos on my SLR camera inside the gallery, so I only have the photos from my phone to show you. During the winter months I always gravitate towards monochrome, so I wore a black and white striped turtle neck, with a black midi skirt.

The Southern States

Tuesday, 28 October 2014

Last week I went on a trip to the Southern States of America which was really lovely. The weather was absolutely beautiful which was a nice reprieve from the English rain.
